All the chief paintings (numbering over 500), in the churches, palaces etc, in Venice are treated in like manner in the order in which they are hung. Despite its early years this fascinating works contains much information that is still useful and practical today. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
