Meet Violet - every day she passes a big Canadian flag on her way to school with her mother. One day, when Violet stops and looks at the flag, her mother decides to take her around the wall to the other side. Violet stands there wide-eyed as she takes in everything. She is looking at the Ottawa FireFighters Memorial with the giant firefighter figures, the names on the wall and the dedication to September 11. As she learns the answers to her ques¬tions, Violet realizes that the names on the wall are true heroes, that sacrificed their life so that she could be safe. Before leaving, Violet says a silent prayer for the fallen firefighters as a shiny red fire truck passes behind her and a single tear falls down her face. A prayer for our heroes!
