It describes how, despite many hurdles and sacrifices along the way, he finally achieved his ambition. It goes on to describe a varied and fulfilled life, first as a doctor in England, and later in outback Australia. The Author describes several experiences, and mentions some patients and medical encounters in a humorous way. It also gives some insight into the Aboriginal (Indigenous) culture in Australia.
