Some have since decayed but some, like Casa Loma, have been painstakingly revitalized and and are presented today to the public as landmarks and museums. The renovated Casa Loma amply demonstrates grand architecture and beautiful gardens of older days, even though it was only constructed some hundred years ago. It resembles forms and styles of earlier palaces.Casa Loma, the Toronto, Canada famous castle has been beautifully restored and is open to the public. group tours, weddings and other private functions. It is also a popular location used in film and television production.This is a cut & paste paaper model project in a 300:1 scale of this landmark. It contains as many details as is possible in this size. Detailed instructions guide you through cutting, folding, gluing and assembling various building blocks, and placing them on the base plan. Roofs and tower tops pieces are then added to complete te model.Casa Loma, meaning "House on the Hill" (in Spanish casa = house, loma = hill, hillock), was built on the 5-acre estate. It was constructed between 1911 and 1914 for Toronto financier Sir Henry Mill Pellat. The house was built to look like a castle and it was then the largest private residence in Canada. It had 98 rooms and a secret passage from Sir Henry's ground-floor office to the second floor. Also, it has an 800-foot long tunnel under the adjacent street to the stables and coach house in another building.
