    William Blair Morton Ferguson (1881-1958) was a prolific writer of mystery and adventure fiction born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. He also wrote using the pseudonym William Morton. Garrisons Finish (c 1906), set in the world of horse racing, has been adapted for film twice, first in 1914 and again in 1923. The latter version starred Jack Pickford, younger brother of silent screen star and producer Mary Pickford, in the title role of jockey Billy Garrison. Fergusons other titles include Zollenstein, Crackerjack, and The Shayne Case.
