    George, my grandfather, documented the story of his life in 1974, the last year of his life. In his mid-eighties, he felt an urgency to share (particularly his early life) with his then young grandchildren or anyone who might be interested. Several of us (grandchildren) remember him sitting at his kitchen table writing long hand, for hours. His once strong hands were crippled from nerve damage, so to compensate he used an oversized triangular shaped pen that looked like a big stick. From this vantage point he had a panoramic view of the streams running through his property and the ducks and geese that graced their surface. This view spiked many memories of the sixty years he had lived here and raised his family.
