Hidden treasure, a flying machine, royal duke, and counterfeit money are all in a days work for a clever elementary schooler who is autistic and non-verbal, using his wits and unique abilities to foil two dishonest schemes.  Humor, kindness, diversity, disability awareness, and problem-solving permeate this fun and quirky and humorous series, about the students and staff of Mortimer Potts Elementary School (Home of the Potty, the Potbellied Pig) expertly written by Liz Cooper.  Morris Flip is an elementary school student who is autistic and communicates through realistic sound effects instead of words. When a new summer camp suddenly opens up in town, he accidentally learns its a cover for a treasure-hunting royal duke, who wants to find a long-lost jewelry collection hidden on the old-abandoned Potts estate. Morris is follows along when his friends Bluebell Skinks and her sister, wheelchair-bound Bonnie, try to persuade their father to allow them to attend Camp Merbando. Mr. Skinks is busy with his companys very important project, building new printing presses that will improve the way the government prints money in efforts to fool counterfeiters. While visiting Skinks Industries, Morris overhears two of Mr. Skinks employees, the Buggs brothers, hatch a plan to get rich by fraudulently printing money while most of the town rushes to the camp during an emergency staged by the pair.  Morris makes an effort to communicate this nefarious plan to Bluebell and Bonnie, and soon gives up when they dont understand what he is trying to tell them. But once at camp, hes able to capture the attention of a great listener-his friend Mitzi Mufflin who is blind-to help him crack the case. Author Liz Cooper is a published author, and former elementary school teacher, resource teacher, and school system language arts supervisor who enjoys writing funny stories about resilient young characters with disabilities, dealing with outlandish situations.
