Be they poignant, humorous or edgy, these poems have been collected to raise funds for a very worthy charity.What follows is a selection of poems Oscar wrote between the ages of 12 and 14. They were composed usually without his parents knowledge and according to whatever muse, theme or style interested him at the time.The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation would like to thank Oscar Peer for writing this book of poetry with the aim of supporting The Royals Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where he spent the first 100 days of his life. We are proud to support such an uplifting project, and hope it is the first of many successful books for this budding young author. The Newborn Intensive Care Unit is a special place that cares for the tiniest and most fragile patients in our health system. More than 600 prematurely and critically ill babies are rushed into its three hushed white rooms from all over NSW every year. There they receive world-class treatment by a team of eight dedicated specialists. We could not continue providing this exceptional care without the support of people like Oscar and we commend this book to you.
