Ive been through ups and downs and eventuallylanded a job doing parking assistant work on movielocations. Then, after several years, I started working forNYCTA as a cleaner in 2001, a position I held until2006, when I injured myself on the job. Now, Im retiredand writing. So sit back, relax, and read on.-PercyLee AndersonI was born in Queens, New York, in June 1964. I amthe oldest of five. I attended New York public schoolsand graduated from Jamaica High School in 1983. Ithen gave birth to my daughter. While attending collegein Queens times were hard raising a child and attendingschool, but I finished with just one thought on mymind: I can do it. Later in my life, I got involved withchildren. I first started volunteering at a local hospitalthat had childrens corners where they could wait andplay while their parents or other siblings were seen bydoctors. Then I became an educator for children. I amnow an assistant program director of a after-school forchildren in New York City schools. I was inspired tostart writing by a friend.
