Matthew Reynolds awakens from cryo sleep, neglected and overlooked for almost two centuries, as a member of the Bright Future Space Program. He finds himself stranded past the edge of known space on board a colonization ship that is aimlessly drifting and sinking further into chaos with each passing day. The ship is disabled, the crew rabid, and an alien creature lurks the halls searching for prey; driving everything closer to the brink. Matt links up with the few remaining members of the command crew, also being some of the last sane people left on board, and the goal is simple: reach the ship's main computer up-link and try to redirect the ship towards safety. All that stands in their way is ninety percent of the remaining crew that would likely kill them on sight, packs of hangry beasts, and poor lighting. Nothing in Matt's life could have prepared him for this moment, but with no better options, he agrees to help them. Making the best of the new life he was robbed of.
