Have you ever lied to the fire chief? Have you ever pantsed yourself in front of your teacher? Have you ever hit yourself in the face with a baseball bat? Have you ever jumped your bike into a tree, felt like school was the worst place on earth, or secretly felt that it was only a matter of time before you finally let everyone down? Have you felt like a fraud, quit too easily, or impulsively spoken words you would later regret? Ted has too. See if you can relate. Operating on the belief that people need to feel that we are all fellow travellers, Ted unravels a long and winding tangle of experiences that led to a discovery that changed his life in many ways. In doing so, his goal is to help the reader see that being different doesn't have to mean being alone. Follow along with Ted as he takes you on journey that is sometimes hilarious, sometimes tragic, but always intensely personal. Raised in a family where ADHD was the norm, Ted did not discover the explanation for his pattern of impulsive behavior, disorganization, forgetfulness and chronic underachievement until he was in graduate school. Described as a "view inside a therapy session", Ted's story unveils not only the surface-level struggles and complications that arise from having a brain wired for chaos, but delves deeper into the fallout that comes from always being the kid who was standing when everyone else was sitting.
