Most of the poems are good, but some certainly do not reach a high poetic standard; yet the author hopes the reader finds all of them interesting. With regard to some, the reader may very properly bear in mind Cowpers request: spare the poet for subjects sake. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
