Therese Quigley is a retired librarian who confides that she didnt read until half way through second grade, when she received a book of Raggedy Ann stories and matching doll for Christmas, and like magic, she started to read. Other childhood favorites were a set of 26 Bobbsey Twins books, purchased from a thrift shop for five dollars, the Bedtime Storybooks of Thornton Burgess and Beatrix Potters many animal stories, borrowed from her local library. Is it any wonder that she became a librarian? Her favorite day of the week was Saturday, when she would walk to the library and return home with her arms full of books. Ms. Quigley was raised in Vermont, earned her MA in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston, and moved to Rhode Island, where she and her husband raised their three children. Her favorite book-related organizations are Books Are Wings, in Rhode Island, and Childrens Literacy Foundation, in Vermont. This is her first book written for children.
