Francis Alexandre Adams (1874-1975), the son of John Quincy Adams (1848-1911), was a member of the Massachusetts Adams family that produced two US Presidents. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He worked as a newspaper editor and journalist, and was the author of several books including Who Rules America? (1899), The Transgressors (1900), subtitled The Story of a Great Sin, a political novel, and a biography of Roosevelt (1909). Formerly a resident of Long Beach, NY, he retired to Stuart, Florida in the late 1940s where he became known for his extreme patriotism, wearing his Spanish American War uniform to parades and other civic functions.
