Having been diagnosed with aspergerssyndrome at the age of 7 I was told that Yasmin would havedi culty expressing herself, and showing empathy would alwaysbe an issue for her. She has no di culty expressing herself inwords and as a result of nding ease in words Yasmin has becomemore con dent in expressing herself in social situations.Although aspergers is something that Yasmin deals with on adaily basis it is not something that dictates who she is. She mayhave a diagnosis of aspergers but it does not have control overher. She has found within herself a way to express her thoughtsand feelings through the words of her poems.It is her dream that through her book... “ e Way I see e World”other people with aspergers or people living with aspergers willsee, that although the aspergers may have limitations attached toit, they like Yasmin have limitless potential to be who they wantto be and not what society dictates they should be.My darling Yasmin I love you and I am very proud to be yourmum. ank you for opening my understanding and for allowingme to wake up to the truth of who I can be.
