Thistles in the Meadow is a story of hope triumphing over adversity. It begins in 1962 when there is a knock on the door and the author is told that his brother had been sectioned.Drawing on a wealth of experience gleaned from almost three decades service as a founder member, council member and trustee of the National Schizophrenia Fellowship (latterly Rethink Mental Illness), during which time David Thompson met relatives and sufferers from all over the UK, he concludes with further insights following his older sons diagnosis of schizophrenia. A parish priest for many years, David Thompson retired in 1998 to devote his life to prayer.
