The name reagent may be applies to all bodies, simple or compound, which, when bought together with others, produce, by there mutual action upon each other, a change of condition in color, odour, state of aggregation, temperature, etc , It is, however, usually restricted to those chemicals which we employ for the purpose of eliciting information as to the constitutes of bodies, whose composition we desire to ascertain. The change produced by the action of the bodies bought together is called a reaction, and is due to a rearrangement of there atoms into new molecules......
