Jim Milliken is a solo consultant and trainer in skills of personal productivity, communication, supervision and management. He emphasizes workplace-based practices applied to real situations. He has been a student of human behavior for nearly six decades: first as a newspaper reporter, editor and manager; and then as an adviser for managers, professionals and team members across a broad range of occupations.As an adjunct professor, he delivers an eight-day series of Project Managment courses for working professionals at the University of Southern Maine; and one-day workshops in Business Writing, Grammar and Mastering Multiple Projects, Priorities & Demands at the University of New Hampshire.He provides onsite, customized training and coaching for managers and professionals in nonprofits and businesses, and frequently advises individuals on career management, including such specifics as resume writing and job interviewing.Life Is a Project: How Are You Managing? is drawn from that long, intimate experience with the adult realities of working life.
