This research on aphasia was to investigate / explore the patterns of rehabilitation of aphasia. The goal was to understand how could therapists help bilingual Hispanics with aphasia. Aphasia has no cultural boundaries. Any human being can be stricken with aphasia whether it is man, woman or child. Aphasia is a condition caused by neurological damage or disease to the brain, which affects a persons ability to communicate as a result of a brain injury, and once a persons brain is damaged their life is no longer the same. The purpose of the study was to find out what type of treatment is given to bilingual Hispanics, and what kind of rehabilitation was provided. There are limited studies among bilingual Hispanic people with aphasia. Its not that psychologists, or speech pathologists have not been successful treating bilingual Hispanics, the problem has been treating the bilingual Hispanic patient who has a language disorder. Due to the confidentiality law, the ethnographic study could not be performed. The study was continued using existing data, which was provided by a therapist at an urban facility.
