Most Liberians think of the high cost of educating the nation’s native citizens, but comparatively few give any thought to the much higher cost of not educating them. In 2013, out of 25,000 high school students, not even one of them was able to achieve the minimum passing grade for entrance to the University of Liberia. The school system in Liberia had not prepared them for higher education. Through the years, the education system has been plagued by ineffective managment and insufficient funding. After 44 years of studying why Liberia's education system is a big mess, the author offers conclusions and recommendations for the government of Liberia and its citizens to implement.
