Prost Publishing, a division of www.prostamerika.com, an international soccer web magazine priding itself on independent coverage of professional soccer across the globe, successfully launched its first book, Cup Bound & Crowned in February 2016, covering the Portland Timbers win of the 2015 MLS cup.Based on its success, Prost Founder Steve Clare, decided to pursue ideas for books particular to North America, starting with books on Mexican soccer and later this year, Women's soccer.Futbol 2016 – The Year in Mexican Soccer will be written primarily from the point of view of Prost’s Mexican-American journalist, Jonny Rico, who is based out of San Diego, Ca., along with select guest writers. Rico said, “This book will reach an underserved market, Americans who love Mexican futbol. It’s the futbol we love in the language we speak.”“We are very excited to be covering Mexican futbol in the English language. This book recognises that the Mexican-American experience is unique, as is their perspective on soccer,” added Clare, himself an immigrant.Futbol 2016 – The Year in Mexican Soccer, is scheduled to launch in early December 2016.
