For example, when one begins to write, the speed of writing generally increases progressively, coming to a height toward the middle of this action, and slowing down toward the end. The orientation of the stroke, its complexity, and previous form will change the pace of the writing process in question. Speed is often determined by the length of the elements of a letter or character, as it typically takes more time to draw long strokes in comparison to short ones. Researchers have observed that these two types vary in handwriting location, speed, and the style of motions in the fingers and hands by comparing the handwriting motions of those with good and bad handwriting.
